19u Girls Philosophy

At the 19U level, athletes continue to refine their technical skills, hockey IQ, physical development, and mental toughness while preparing for higher levels of competition. As part of USA Hockey's "Learn to Compete" stage, the focus shifts toward balancing player development with team performance.

Players are expected to demonstrate commitment, accountability, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic. While development remains a priority, playing opportunities may vary based on skill, effort, attendance, attitude, and team needs.

NMYHA follows the USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM), emphasizing long-term athlete development, teamwork, leadership, and respect for the game. Our goal is to provide a competitive and supportive environment that helps athletes reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love of hockey.

Above all, hockey should be fun, challenging, and rewarding for every player.

Practices

3 PRACTICES/WEEK

Practices will be at both Stumptown Ice Den and Woodland Ice Center. Including an early morning practice.

*Practices start 9/29

*Additional weekend practices will be scheduled to make up for November opening of Woodland.

*Christmas Break Dec 21 - Jan 2

Games & Tournaments

League Games: 19U Girls team will participate in the Treasure State League which will include 16 regular season games (8 home, 8 away) and the end of season State Championship Tournament. (Teams must qualify based on standings to participate in the State Championship Tournaments.)

Tournaments: 19U Girls will look to participate in an additional 3 tournaments for the season. Tournament commitments will be discussed at the beginning of the season.

*NMYHA has no control over the final game brackets from TSL. Game totals are subject to change at the discrection of the league. League fees do not change based on those changes.

Includes all practices, coaching, league fees, game ice fees, referee fees.

Tournament Costs

Additional tournament fees will be determined by tournament participation. Families can anticipate approximately an additional $100 per tournament per player.
