peewee philosophy
We are excited to welcome you to our inaugural hockey season. Our goal is to provide a positive, fun, and development-focused experience where players build skills, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of the game.
At NMYHA, we believe player development comes before short-term results. Through quality coaching, meaningful participation, and a supportive team environment, players are encouraged to grow both on and off the ice while learning the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and hard work.
As a USA Hockey-affiliated association, NMYHA follows the American Development Model (ADM), which emphasizes age-appropriate skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. While competition is part of hockey, our focus remains on long-term player development and creating meaningful opportunities for every player to learn and improve. All coaches are USA Hockey certified, and all players must maintain a current USA Hockey membership to participate.
We look forward to a fun, rewarding, and successful season for every player and family.
2026-2027 SEASON OVERVIEW
Practices
3 PRACTICES/WEEK
Practices will be at both Stumptown Ice Den and Woodland Ice Center.
*Some Fridays will be unavailable due to other events being hosted at Stumptown Ice Den.
*Practices start 9/29
*Additional weekend practices will be scheduled to make up for November opening of Woodland.
*Christmas Break Dec 21 - Jan 2
Games & Tournaments
- League Games: 12U teams will participate in the Treasure State League which will include 16 regular season games (8 home, 8 away) and the end of season State Championship Tournament.
- EKL Add-On: 12U EKL will participate in approximately 12 regular season games and the end of season Banner Championship Tournament.
- Tournaments: 12U teams will participate in an additional 3 tournaments for the season. Tournament commitments will be discussed at the beginning of the season.
*NMYHA has no control over the final game brackets from either TSL or EKL. Game totals are subject to change at the discrection of those leagues. League fees do not change based on those changes.

Tournament Costs
Additional tournament fees will be determined by tournament participation. Families can anticipate approximately an additional $100 per tournament per player.
